The University of Montevallo women’s tennis team defeated Central Alabama Community College 6-3 in a match Feb. 23.

The Falcons won four singles’ matches and two doubles’ matches against Central Alabama.

Helene Nordgreen of Montevallo defeated Central Alabama’s Lauren Blair 6-2, 2-6, 7-5 in the No. 1 singles’ match. The Falcons’ Callie Robinson defeated Lanie Denuex of Central Alabama 7-6, 7-5 in the No. 2 singles’ match.

Montevallo’s Kodi Bobo defeated Katie Smalley of Central Alabama 6-3, 6-2 in the No. 4 singles’ match. Amy McGucken of Montevallo defeated Amber Gurubel 6-4, 7-5 in the No. 5 singles’ match.

Nordgreen and Robinson defeated Blair and Denuex 8-1 in the No. 1 doubles’ match. The Falcons’ Bobo and Kayla Hackett, a Chelsea graduate, defeated Smalley and Bailey Diserio of Central Alabama 8-4 in the No. 2 doubles’ match.
