The Briarwood Christian School girls’ soccer team defeated St. Paul’s 4-1 in the Island Cup tournament Feb. 25 at Orange Beach.

Cat Cowen, Savannah Penny, Amanda Smeltzer and Julie Scruggs scored one goal each for the Lions, who improved to 2-2 with the victory.

Cowen and Sarah Drew Mulvaney recorded one assist each.

Mulvaney recorded two saves in the win. Fellow goalkeeper Anna Handlin finished with four saves.

The Lions fell to Auburn 3-0 in its second game of the day at the Island Cup.
