Panthers win two games in softball tournament

The Pelham High School softball team defeated Northridge and St. Paul’s in the Hewitt-Trussville tournament Feb. 26.

The Panthers fell to Pleasant Grove in the tournament.

Pelham defeated Northridge 8-0.

Mary Morgan Dramer led the Panthers (3-2) at the plate as she finished 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.

Kristian Foster went 3-for-3 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base. Caityln Sapp finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored.

Jennifer Davis picked up the win in the circle as she pitched a one-hit shutout with four strikeouts and three walks in a complete game.

The Panthers defeated St. Paul’s 3-2.

Becky Fox led Pelham at the plate as she went 2-for-2 with two doubles and an RBI. Fox picked up the win in the circle after giving up two runs, including one earned run, on three hits with four strikeouts and a walk in a complete game.

Emily Spain finished 1-for-2 and drove in two runs. Lindsey Pyle finished with a double, a run scored and an RBI.

Pelham fell to Pleasant Grove 5-3.

Foster led the Panthers as she went 3-for-3 with two RBIs, a run scored and a stolen base.

Heather McGuirk finished 1-for-3 and drove in a run.

Fox took the loss after giving up four earned runs with three strikeouts and two walks in two innings. Davis finished with two walks and a strikeout in 2 2/3 innings in the circle.
