Betty Jo Endress Roper, age 64, of Calera passed away Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at Shelby Medical Center. Mrs. Roper was born in Alabaster. The family received friends Monday evening, Feb. 28, 2011, from 5-7 p.m. at Bolton Funeral Home in Calera. Funeral services were Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Bolton Funeral Home in Calera with burial following in Shelby Memory Gardens, Calera, with Bro. Bill Alexander officiating.

Mrs. Roper is survived by one son, William B. Roper (Melissa); one daughter, Pam R. Nettles (Allan); and two brothers, Thomas Endress (Carolyn) and Frank A. Endress (Nancy). She was a devoted Mem Maw / Maw Maw to her five grandchildren, Austin Massey, Blaze Massey, Phoenix Roper, Rosie Nettles and Kaitlyn Nettles, and to a host of nieces, nephews and friends, as well as all of her adopted children and grandchildren – the Massey and Greer families. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Ludie Endress and one sister, Gladys McMillion. The services were under the direction of Bolton Funeral Home in Calera.
