The Cornerstone Christian School softball team defeated Bessemer Academy 10-6 in high school softball action March 3.

The Chargers (2-0) scored four runs in the second inning and four runs in the fifth inning to secure the victory.

Allie Toney and Ashley Carden each homered in the victory.

Toney finished 2-for-5 at the plate with a home run and two RBIs. Carden went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs.

Jana Kelbie Armstrong finished 3-for-5 with two doubles and an RBI. Armstrong picked up the win in the circle after giving up six runs, including two earned runs, on five hits with 10 strikeouts and four walks in a complete game.
