Thompson defeats Montevallo in tennis match

The Thompson High School boys’ tennis team defeated Montevallo 8-1 in a high school tennis match March 3.

The Warriors swept all six singles’ matches and took two of the three doubles’ matches against Montevallo.

Tyler Shaw of Thompson defeated Peter Seeds of Montevallo 8-2 in the No. 1 singles’ match. The Warriors’ Wes Robinson defeated James Wagner of Montevallo 8-1 in the No. 2 singles’ match.

Tony Pendleton of Thompson defeated Brett Gray of Montevallo 8-1 in the No. 3 singles’ match. Thompson’s Cameron Faulkner defeated Patrick Lawley of Montevallo 8-3 in the No. 4 singles’ match.

Clay Anthony of Thompson defeated John Wagner of Montevallo 8-3 in the No. 5 singles’ match. The Warriors’ Jared Pendleton-Cowsar defeated Josh Weeks of Montevallo 8-0 in the No. 6 singles’ match.

Shaw and Robinson defeated Seeds and Gray 8-0 in the No. 1 doubles’ match. Faulkner and Anthony defeated Wagner and Lawley 8-1 in the No. 2 doubles’ match.

Montevallo’s Wagner and Weeks recorded the Bulldogs’ lone victory with an 8-4 win over James Lagnes and Javier Gaddis of Thompson in the No. 3 doubles’ match.
