Thompson pounds Bessemer City in soccer match

The Thompson High School girls’ soccer team defeated Bessemer City 10-0 in a high school soccer match March 3.

Tatum Harless led the Warriors (9-0) with three goals in the victory. Harless also recorded two assists.

Alli Watts added two goals. Mariah Poe, Kayela Hill, Madison Thomas, Kathleen Pohl and Michaela Graber scored one goal each in the win.

Pohl, who scored her goal on a penalty kick, finished with two assists. Poe and Hill finished with one assist each.

BOYS

The Thompson High School boys’ soccer team defeated Bessemer City 10-0 in a high school soccer match March 3.

Jacob Ramsey led the Warriors with four goals in the victory. Ramsey, who scored two penalty-kick goals, scored two goals in each half.

Paul Karanja added three goals. Aaron Baird scored a pair of goals. Jeremy Hitt added one goal in the win.

Thompson goalkeeper Eric Hubbard recorded one save in the shut out.
