Hope Christian drops season-opening doubleheader

The Hope Christian School baseball team dropped a doubleheader with Tabernacle Christian on opening day March 3.

The Eagles (0-2) fell to Tabernacle Christian 7-2 in the opener.

Tyler Hickman led Hope Christian at the plate as he finished 2-for-2 with an RBI and a stolen base.

Caleb Key finished 2-for-3 with an RBI. Matthew Hyde went 1-for-3 with a run scored. Kenneth Norris also scored a run and stole three bases.

Hickman took the loss after striking out four batters and walking two in four innings.

The Eagles fell to Tabernacle Christian 18-3 in the nightcap.

Hyde, who had a triple, and Josh Arnold finished with one hit each.

Arnold and Christopher Hale drove in one run each. Andrew Martin, Philip Clark and Dillon Thompson scored one run each.

Norris gave up one walk in one inning on the mound. Hyde struck out four batters in two innings. Kaleb Arnold walked three batters in one inning.
