Pelham softball sweeps games in tournament

The Pelham High School softball team defeated Rehobeth and Corner in its opening games at the Jaguar Classic.

Pelham defeated Rehobeth 3-2. The game was called after three innings due to rain.

Lindsey Pyle led the Panthers (5-3) at the plate as she finished 1-for-1 and drove in a run.

Mary Morgan Dramer and Kristian Foster finished with one hit and scored one run each.

Caitlyn Sapp also recorded a hit. Heather McGuirk scored a run.

Becky Fox picked up the win in the circle after giving up two runs on one hit with three strikeouts and a walk in three innings.

Pelham edged Corner 4-3 in its opener.

Jennifer Davis led the Panthers at the plate as she finished 2-for-2 and drove in two runs.

Sapp finished 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored. Jessie Breland went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored. Dramer finished 1-for-2 and scored a run.

McGuirk finished 1-for-2. Foster went 1-for-1. Erin Whitman scored a run in the victory.

Davis picked up the win in the circle after giving up three runs, including two earned runs, on seven hits with two walks and a strikeout in a five-inning complete game.
