Cornerstone softball wins tournament championship

The Cornerstone Christian School softball team defeated Evangel Christian Academy 9-0 to claim the Prattville Christian Academy tournament championship March 4.

Destiny Dillard led the Chargers (6-0) at the plate as she finished 1-for-1 with a triple in the championship game. Dillard drove in two runs in the victory.

Kailey Goodwin went 1-for-1 with an RBI single and a stolen base. Ashley Carden finished 1-for-1 with an RBI single and two stolen bases.

Jana Kelbie Armstrong picked up the win in the circle.

Cornerstone Christian defeated Northside 3-2 in the semifinals.

Goodwin led the Chargers at the plate as she finished 1-for-2 with an RBI double. Lauren Rodgers drove in a run with her sacrifice fly.

Dillard picked up the win in the circle after giving up one earned run on three hits with seven strikeouts and two walks in three innings.

The Chargers defeated Lee-Scott Academy 9-3 in the tournament.

Carden went 2-for-2 with a double and drove in three runs. Allie Toney finished 1-for-1 with a two-run homer. Armstrong went 1-for-3 with a double.

Armstrong picked up the win in the circle after giving up two earned runs with one strikeout and one walk in four innings.
