The Oak Mountain High School baseball team defeated Hoover 8-4 in the Birmingham Metro tournament March 7.

Jake Hubbard led the Eagles (7-3) at the plate as he finished 3-for-4 with a home run.

Jacob Pierce picked up the win on the mound after giving up four earned runs on four hits with four strikeouts and a walk in three innings.

Nick Bietghofer struck out five and walked five batters while allowing only one hit in four innings in relief.

Oak Mountain, which lost its first game March 7 against Vestavia Hills, will face Pelham in the consolation bracket March 8.
