Oak Mountain softball unbeaten in Hoover tournament

The Oak Mountain High School softball team finished 5-0 in tournament action March 11-12 at Hoover High School.

The Eagles (12-2) defeated Clay-Chalkville, Oxford, Cullman, Homewood and Florence in tournament games.

The Eagles closed the tournament with a 15-0 win over Florence.

Hannah Griffin led Oak Mountain at the plate as she finished 4-for-4 with four runs scored. Caroline Seitz finished 3-for-4, drove in four runs and scored two runs.

Anne Thomaston (5-1) picked up the win in the circle after pitching a two-hitter with 15 strikeouts and one strikeout and one walk.

Oak Mountain defeated Homewood 18-0.

Leah Reeve led the Eagles at the plate as she finished 2-for-3, drove in five runs and scored a run. Caylor Greenwood went 3-for-3, drove in four runs and scored two runs.

Reeve (1-0) picked up the win in the circle after pitching a one-hitter with five strikeouts.

Oak Mountain defeated Cullman 2-0 in the tournament.

Reeve led the Eagles at the plate as she finished 2-for-3 and scored a run. Seitz and Thomaston also recorded hits in the victory.

Nicole Kehr (6-1) picked up the win in the circle after pitching a four-hitter with seven strikeouts.

The Eagles defeated Oxford 1-0.

Kehr led Oak Mountain at the plate as she went 2-for-3 and scored a run. Kendall Jonseof finished 2-for-3.

Thomaston picked up the win in the circle after pitching a three-hitter with four strikeouts and a walk.

Oak Mountain topped Clay-Chalkville 4-2.

Thomaston, Jonseof, Hannah Asprodites and Maddie Ridgeway had one hit each in the victory.

Kehr picked up the win in the circle after giving up two earned runs on four hits with three strikeouts and two walks.
