Pelham softball wins three games at Hoover tournament

The Pelham High School softball team finished 3-1 in tournament action March 11-12 at Hoover High School.

The Panthers defeated Russell County, Northridge and Oxford in the tournament. Pelham fell to Alexandria in tournament action.

Pelham defeated Russell County 13-0.

Emily Spain picked up the win in the circle after pitching a five-inning perfect game with six strikeouts.

Mary Morgan Dramer led the Panthers at the plate as she finished 3-for-4 and scored two runs. Kristian Foster, Heather McGuirk, Lindsey Pyle and Jessie Breland finished with two hits each.

The Panthers defeated Northridge 9-2 in the tournament.

Caitlyn Sapp led Pelham at the plate as she finished 3-for-3, drove in four runs and scored three runs. Dramer, Breland and Erin Whitman finished with two hits each.

Becky Fox picked up the win in the circle after giving up two runs, including one earned run, on three hits with five strikeouts and three walks in four innings.

Pelham defeated Oxford 8-1.

McGuirk led the Panthers as she finished 2-for-3, drove in two runs and scored a run. Dramer, Foster, Sapp, Pyle, Breland and Kayla Watson finished with one hit each.

Spain picked up the win after giving up one unearned run on six hits with two strikeouts.

The Panthers fell to Alexandria 8-4 in the tournament.

Dramer led the Panthers at the plate as she finished 2-for-3 and scored three runs. Sapp went 2-for-3, drove in three runs and scored a run.

McGuirk and Whitman finished with one hit each.

Jennifer Davis took the loss on the circle after giving up eight earned runs on 16 hits with four strikeouts and three walks.
