The Montevallo High School baseball team defeated Maplesville 6-1 in its opening game at the Chilton County tournament March 14 in Clanton.

Chase Hamrick led the Bulldogs at the plate as he finished 2-for-4 with two doubles. Hamrick drove in two runs.

David Shirah went 2-for-4 with a double and drove in two runs. Trey Colley finished 1-for-1 with a double and drove in a run.

Trevor Chattam earned the win on the mound after giving up two runs, including one earned run, with five strikeouts. Taylor Burr struck out two batters in one inning in relief.
