The Chelsea High School baseball team fell to Benjamin Russell 6-0 in the Lake Martin Classic tournament March 16 in Alex City.

Joey Mock led the Hornets at the plate as he finished 2-for-3 with a double.

Eli Bashour, Tres Gregg and Justen Moore finished with one hit each.

Sophomore Tripp Hibbs took the loss on the mound after giving up six runs, including four earned runs, on eight hits with four strikeouts.

The Hornets also fell to Dadeville 7-4 in the tournament March 16.

Carey Emmerke led the Hornets at the plate as he finished 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored.

Hunter Picklesimer went 2-for-3 at the plate. Eli Bashour finished 1-for-3. Brody Holder went 1-for-3 and scored a run. Michael Graben finished 1-for-2 and scored a run.

Bashour, Holder and Alex Dean drove in one run each.

Jake Campbell allowed four earned runs on five hits with a strikeout and two walks in 2 1/3 innings. Davis Shoemaker gave up one earned run, struck out two batters and walked two batters in 2 1/3 innings.

Dean struck out two batters and issued one walk in 1 1/3 innings.
