Martha Owen Griffin, 77, a resident of Maylene, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents, Abe and Bertha Parsons; brother, Owen Wilson Parsons, Jr.; and sisters, Evelyn Parsons Powell and Hazel Irene Parsons Cox DeVan. She is survived by her husband, Frank Griffin; sons, Frank Alan Griffin (Susan), Danny Charles Griffin and John Owen Griffin (Dawn); two special “daughters,” Kelly S. Griffin and Susie Price; grandchildren, Danny Frank Griffin (Melissa), Frank Owen Griffin, Jamie Joseph Griffin (Amy), Kimberly Erin Griffin, Kelsey Ann Griffin, Derek Adam Griffin, Rhianna Isabella Griffin and Savannah Lynn Griffin; great-grandchildren, Peyton Elise Griffin and Sawyer Claire Griffin; and several nieces and nephews.

Martha and her husband, Frank R. Griffin, established and managed Fox Valley Apartments from 1970 to present day. Martha attended Thompson High School.

Visitation will be Thursday evening, March 19 at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel, Montevallo, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 18, 2011, at 11 a.m. from the chapel with Bro. Dwight Joiner officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Rockco Funeral Home, Montevallo is directing. Rockcofuneralhomes.com.
