Michael Allen Burns, age 66, a resident of Lay Lake, died on Wednesday, March 16, 2011. Funeral service was at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 20, 2011, at First Baptist Church of Vincent with Rev. Darryl Wood officiating. Burial followed in Vincent City Cemetery. Bolton Funeral Home of Columbiana directed. Visitation wasSaturday, March 19, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at Bolton Funeral Home in Columbiana.

He was a retired principal of Chelsea Middle School. He was an avid golfer, loved Mississippi State University sports, was an All-Southeastern Conference baseball player at MSU and helped lead the bulldogs to the 65-66 SEC Championships.

Mr. Burns is survived by his wife of 45 years, Martha Gorman Burns; sons, Allen Burns, Chad Burns (Cindy); daughter, Heather Burns; grandson, C.J. Burns; sister, Reva Durfeld; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Please sign online condolences at Boltonfuneralhome.com.
