The Briarwood Christian School boys’ tennis team defeated Hewitt-Trussville 5-4 in a high school tennis match March 21.

The Lions (4-1) won three singles’ matches and two doubles’ matches against Hewitt-Trussville.

Taylor Brewton of Briarwood Christian defeated Grant Wright of Hewitt-Trussville 8-0 in the No. 3 singles’ match. Russell Hancock of Briarwood Christian defeated Noah Tippen of Hewitt-Trussville 8-3 in the No. 4 singles’ match.

Phillip Taylor of Briarwood Christian defeated Cory Higginbotham of Hewitt-Trussville 8-6 in the No. 5 singles’ match.

Russell and Devin Bowman of Briarwood Christian defeated Tippen and Wright of Hewitt-Trussville 8-6 in the No. 2 doubles’ match. Hancock and Taylor defeated Higginbotham and Michael Hester of Hewitt-Trussville 8-6 in the No. 3 doubles’ match.

GIRLS

The Briarwood Christian School girls’ tennis team defeated Hewitt-Trussville 7-2 in a high school tennis match March 21.

The Lions (5-0) won five of the six singles’ matches and two of the three doubles’ matches against Hewitt-Trussville.

Katherine Combs of Briarwood Christian defeated Alex O’Burr of Hewitt-Trussville 8-1 in the No. 1 singles’ match. The Lions’ Susan Jordan defeated Kelly Anne Minor of Hewitt-Trussville 8-4 in the No. 2 singles’ match.

Holly Brazeal of Briarwood Christian defeated Savannah Weber of Hewitt-Trussville 9-7 in the No. 3 singles’ match. Catherine Jordan of Briarwood Christian defeated Hannah Fleming of Hewitt-Trussville 8-2 in the No. 4 singles’ match.

Olivia Odom of Briarwood Christian defeated Kelley Ward of Hewitt-Trussville 9-7 in the No. 5 singles’ match.

Combs and Susan Jordan of Briarwood Christian defeated O’Burr and Minor 8-3 in the No. 1 doubles’ match. Brazeal and Odom defeated Weber and Lowery McNeal 8-5 in the No. 2 doubles’ match.
