Oak Mountain softball edges Spain Park

The Oak Mountain High School softball team edged Spain Park 3-2 in high school softball action March 22.

Nicole Kehr led the Eagles at the plate as she went 3-for-4 and scored a run. Caroline Seitz finished 2-for-4 and scored a run.

Anne Thomaston earned the win in the circle after giving up two unearned runs on six hits with five strikeouts and three walks in five innings. Kehr gave up one hit and struck out three batters in two innings in relief.

April Scott led the Jaguars with a two-run double.

Casey Craig finished 2-for-4 at the plate with a triple. Caroline Holmes, Keri Krake and Erin Hornsby finished with a single each.

Channing Haynes took the loss in the circle after giving up three runs, including one earned run, on seven hits with six strikeouts and three walks in a complete game.
