Thompson tops Chelsea in Metro soccer tournament

The Thompson High School girls’ soccer team defeated Chelsea 7-1 in its Metro tournament opener March 22.
Seven different players scored for the Warriors, who improved to 10-3.
Alli Watts, Amber Harless, Mariah Poe, Tatum Harless, Hannah Oglesby, Mary Milliron and Hannah Parker scored one goal each in the victory. Harless finished with two assists.
Thompson goalkeepers Sarah Allen and Kelsey Ferguson recorded one save each.
Mara Roberts scored the lone goal for Chelsea off an assist by Iyani Hughes. Chelsea goalkeeper Ashleigh Niven finished with two saves.
