Shelby County young farmers Jamie and Amy Griffin were recognized as the beef and equine division winners in the Alabama Farmers Federation’s Outstanding Young Farm Family (OYFF) contest Feb. 19 during the Young Farmers Leadership Conference in Huntsville. Now in its 49th year, the OYFF program seeks to honor young farm families and farmers between the ages of 18 and 35 who are doing an outstanding job in their farm, home and community activities. The Griffins are shown here with Federation President Jerry Newby, left, and State Young Farmers Chairman Ben Haynes of Cullman County, right. Each commodity winner received $200 and a plaque.
