Calera softball picks up first win against Tarrant

The Calera High School softball team defeated Tarrant 18-3 in high school softball action March 22.

The Eagles (1-5) scored seven runs in each the first and second innings on their way to their first win of the season.

Shelby Clark led Calera at the plate as she finished 2-for-3 with a home run. Clark drove in five runs and scored two runs.

Kymber McGiboney finished 2-for-3 with a double. McGiboney drove in a run and scored two runs. Anna Seabury went 2-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored. Samantha Smith went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and three runs scored.

Skyler Laird finished 1-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored. Lindsay Hammac finished 1-for-3 and scored two runs. Jocelyn Davis finished 1-for-1 and scored a run.

Katie Eiland picked up the win in the circle after striking out five batters and issuing one walk in a ho-hitter in a three-inning complete game.
