Craig Morgan headlining CityFest

Country music star Craig Morgan, who has broken into the top 40 charts with songs such as “Redneck Yacht Club” and “That’s What I Love About Sunday” will headline this year’s Alabaster CityFest.

Morgan has been recording top hits such as “Bonfire,” “Almost Home” and “Tough” for more than 10 years, and will be the featured musical act during the June 4 festival at Alabaster’s Municipal Park.

Other musical performers are pending, and will be announced as they are added to the lineup.

The festival is organized by the Alabaster Arts Council, and is expected to draw more than 60,000 people this year.

Regions Bank is the title sponsor for this year’s event, and platinum sponsors are the Alabaster Reporter, the Pelham Reporter, the Shelby County Reporter, the North Chilton Advertiser and The Clanton Advertiser.

Other platinum sponsors are Magic 96.5, the city of Alabaster, the Alabaster Arts Council, CBS 42, Vic Smith CPA and 102.5 The Bull.

This year’s event will include inflatable games, a Lowe’s build-it workshop, arts and crafts, a healthy cooking class for kids and a youth field day competition.

Vendor booths, food and entertainment will be available all day.

Gates for the event will open at 9 a.m., and Morgan is scheduled to take the main stage at 9 p.m.
