Oak Mountain softball edges Thompson

The Oak Mountain High School softball team edged Thompson 7-5 in high school softball action March 24.
Kailey Boone led the Eagles at the plate as she finished 3-for-4 with a double and drove in three runs.
Haley Thomaston went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Hannah Griffin went 2-for-4 and drove in a run. Maddie Ridgeway finished 2-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored. Leah Reeve finished 1-for-4 and scored a run. Hannah Asprodites went 1-for-3 and scored a run.
Nicole Kehr earned the win in the circle after giving up two earned runs on 12 hits with six strikeouts in a complete game.
Taylor Powell led Thompson at the plate as she finished 3-for-4 with a double. Powell drove in a run and scored a run.
Marly Terrell, who drove in a run and scored a run, went 2-for-4 with two doubles. Rachel Rigney finished 3-for-4 with a double and scored a run. Sarah Watkins finished 1-for-4 and scored a run. Amanda Springer and Jordan Swindle each finished 1-for-3 and drove in a run.
Powell took the loss in the circle after giving up four earned runs on 12 hits with seven strikeouts in a complete game.
