The Pelham High School girls’ soccer team defeated Gardendale 5-1 in the Metro soccer tournament March 23.

Jessica Bird led the Panthers (8-3) with three goals, all of which came in the opening half. Bird also had two assists. Natalia Alcaino contributed one goal and two assists.

Pelham goalkeeper Selina Delgadillo finished with eight saves.
