Pelham downs Clay-Chalkville in Metro tournament

The Pelham High School boys’ soccer team defeated Clay-Chalkville 2-0 in the Metro tournament March 23.

Diego Lopez scored the first goal for the Panthers (5-8-1) with an assist from Oscar Pineda at the 26-minute mark in the opening half.

Ryan Tapley added the final goal with his corner-kick deflection with 19 minutes remaining in the match.

Pelham goalkeeper Hunter Payant made five saves and recorded his third shutout of the season.
