The Spain Park High School baseball team defeated Chiles High School of Tallahassee, Fla. 10-4 in high school baseball action March 23.

The Jaguars (20-7) scored seven runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to clinch the victory.

Marks Abernathy led Spain Park at the plate as he finished 2-for-3. Abernathy drove in three runs and scored two runs in the victory.

Carter White finished 2-for-2 with a double and drove in two runs. Paul Angel went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored. Mikey White finished 1-for-2 with a double and scored two runs.

Alex Close finished 1-for-2 and drove in two runs. Chris Ellis went 1-for-4 and scored a run. Charlie McPherson finished 1-for-3 with a double and drove in a run. Nathan Brock finished 1-for-3 and drove in a run.

Josh Close, Austin Walker and Austin Veteto scored one run each.

Mikey White (2-0) earned the win on the mound after giving up two runs on four hits with four strikeouts. Alex Close allowed two earned runs on six hits with three strikeouts in relief.
