The Calera High School baseball team defeated Midfield 25-2 in a Class 4A, Area 8 contest March 25.

The Eagles scored 13 runs in the first inning in the victory.

Zac Reneau led Calera at the plate as he finished 1-for-4 with a grand slam homer in the third inning.

Jeremy Hyde went 3-for-4 and drove in three runs. Chase Jones went 2-for-4 and drove in three runs. Jordan Sizemore finished 3-for-4. J.R. Posey went 2-for-2 and drove in a run.

Michael Marifice earned the win on the mound after giving up one earned run on four hits with four strikeouts and a walk in four innings.
