Betty Ruth Mehaffey, 97, a resident of Vincent, passed away March 28, 2011.

Mrs. Mehaffey is preceded in death by her parents, Mittie Lou Bennett and George Wilson Martin; two brothers, Clyde Martin and Homer Martin; sister, Annie Laura Morrell; two daughters, Janette Tucker and Barbara Jane Bowyer. She is survived by her husband, Loyd Lafayette Mehaffey; sons, Martin Thomas Brasher (Barbara Anne) and Loyd Wilson Mehaffey (Diana); daughters, Betty Sue Bloom (Bob) and Jo Anne Copeland; sister Sarah Jane Cuninghame; 25 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation took place March 29 from 5:30-8 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home. The funeral service was March 30 at 2 p.m. in Kilgroe Chapel with Rev. Keith Elder and Rev. Angela Martin officiating. Interment followed at Vincent City Cemetary.
