Ray Archer Bentley, age 74, a resident of Columbiana, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2011. Funeral service was at 2 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2011, at Bolton Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Miller officiating. Burial followed in Pinelawn Gardens. Bolton Funeral Home of Columbiana directed. Visitation was Sunday, March 27, 2011, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Bentley was a valued employee at the Blue Circle/Lafarge Cement Company in Calera. He was a long-time member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Columbiana. He will be remembered most as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Mr. Bentley was preceded in death by his parents, Ward and Esther Bentley. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Connie Bentley; daughter, Teresa Loyd; sons, Mike Bentley (Martha), Russell Bentley (Robin) and Richard Bentley (Susan); sisters, Villa Wright (James) and Sharon Derrick (Robert); grandchildren, Bethany Hutton (Tyler), Brooke Thornburg (Danson), Jordan Bentley, Tiffany Loyd, Whitley Loyd, Haley Loyd, Landon Bentley, Lakelyn Bentley, Racheal Trice (Chris) and Shelley Bentley; great-grandson, Brayden Hutton; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
