The Pelham High School softball team split four games at the Bob Jones tournament April 2.

The Panthers defeated Grissom and Tuscaloosa County in the tournament. Pelham dropped games against Ballard (Ky.) and Cullman in Huntsville.

Pelham defeated Grissom 4-1.

Caitlyn Sapp led the Panthers at the plate as she finished 1-for-3 with a home run. Sapp drove in one run and scored two runs in the victory.

Heather McGuirk and Erin Whitman finished with one hit and drove in one run each. Kristian Foster and Mary Morgan Dramer each went 1-for-3 and scored one run. Jessie Breland and Kayla Watson each finished 1-for-2 at the plate.

Becky Fox earned the win in the circle after giving up one earned run on four hits with two strikeouts and a walk in a complete game.

The Panthers defeated Tuscaloosa County 3-2.

Sapp, who had a double, and Dramer led Pelham as each finished 2-for-3 at the plate.

Whitman, who drove in one run and scored one run, finished 1-for-3 with a home run. Breland went 1-for-2 with a double and scored a run. Fox, who drove in one run and scored one run, finished 1-for-2 at the plate. Foster finished 1-for-3 and drove in one run.

Fox earned the win in the circle after giving up two earned runs on four hits with five strikeouts in a complete game.

Pelham fell to Ballard (Ky.) 12-5 in the tournament.

Foster led the Panthers as she finished 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.

McGuirk, Whitman, Breland, Watson, Emily Spain and Lindsey Pyle finished with one hit each.

Jennifer Davis took the loss in the circle after giving up two earned runs on four hits with one walk in 1 1/3 innings.

The Panthers fell to Cullman 6-3.

Sapp led Pelham at the plate as she finished 3-for-3 and scored two runs.

Dramer finished 2-for-3 at the plate. Foster, McGuirk, Whitman, Pyle and Watson had one hit each.

Spain took the loss in the circle after allowing four earned runs with three strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings.
