Edith Ramey, age 86, a resident of Chelsea, died on Friday, April 1, 2011. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, April 4, 2011, at Chelsea Church of God with Rev. Mike Kiker officiating. Burial will follow in Cahaba Heights Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Sunday, April 3, 2011, at the church.

Mrs. Ramey was a member of Chelsea Church of God. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clifton William Ramey Sr.; sons, Clifton W. Ramey Jr., Larry Wayne Ramey and Horace Ramey. Mrs. Ramey is survived by her son, Bennie Ramey (Ruby); daughters, Brenda Hyde and Peggy Turner (Bennie); daughter-in-law, Betty Ramey; sister, Jeanette Praytor; and brother, William Belew (Faye); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
