The Thompson High School softball team edged Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa 7-6 in extra innings in high school softball action April 5.

The Warriors plated the game-winning runs in the bottom of the 11th inning. Thompson racked up 23 hits in the victory.

Jordan Swindle led the Warriors at the plate as she finished 5-for-6 with a double and drove in three runs.

Rachel Rigney finished 3-for-4 at the plate and scored a run. Rigney earned the win in the circle in relief after striking out two batters and issuing three walks in four innings in relief.

Taylor Powell started in the circle and allowed five earned runs on nine hits with seven strikeouts and two walks in seven innings.
