Briarwood Christian defeats Trinity in tennis match

The Briarwood Christian School boys’ tennis team defeated Trinity Presbyterian School of Montgomery 8-1 in a high school tennis match April 6.

The Lions won five of the six singles’ matches and all three doubles’ matches against Trinity.

Griffin Russell of Briarwood Christian defeated Logan Powell of Trinity 6-0, 5-7, 1-0 (5) in the No. 2 singles’ match. Taylor Brewton of Briarwood Christian defeated Tyler Vermillian of Trinity 6-2, 6-0 in the No. 3 singles’ match.

The Lions’ Russell Hancock defeated Luke Carlson of Trinity 2-6, 7-5, 1-0 (8) in the No. 4 singles’ match. Philip Taylor Briarwood Christian defeated Fox Carlson of Trinity 7-6 (1), 6-1 in the No. 5 singles’ match.

Brent Durrett of Briarwood Christian defeated Claude McRoberts of Trinity 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 (9) in the No. 6 singles’ match.

Matt Nichols and Brewton of Briarwood Christian defeated Dow Birchfield and Powell of Trinity 8-3 in the No. 1 doubles’ match. Russell and Hancock defeated Luke and Fox Carlson 8-6 in the No. 2 doubles’ match.

Taylor and Durrett defeated Vermillian and McRoberts 8-1 in the No. 3 doubles’ match.
