Vincent ties Verbena in baseball game


The Vincent High School baseball team battled to a 15-15 tie with Verbena in high school baseball game April 6.

Ben McKinney led the Yellow Jackets, who racked up 13 hits, at the plate as he finished 3-for-4 with a home run. McKinney drove in three runs and scored two runs in the game.

Daniel Hawkins, who drove in a team-high five runs and scored two runs, went 2-for-4 with a home run and a double. Chase Howard, who scored one run, finished 2-for-4 with a home run and a double. Judd Moore went 3-for-3 at the plate and scored two runs.

Zac Baucom started the game and allowed five earned runs on eight hits with eight strikeouts and a walk in five innings.

Howard gave up one earned run on one hit with a strikeout and three walks in one inning in relief. McKinney allowed two earned runs on three hits with a strikeout and a walk in one inning in relief.
