R.J. Green

Harpersville

R.J. Green, 94, a resident of Harpersville, passed away April 10, 2011 at Sylacauga Health and Rehab. Visitation will be held April 12 from 6-8 p.m. at Curtis and Son Childersburg Chapel. The graveside service will be held April 13 at 11 a.m. with Rev. William Rayfield and Rev. David Williams officiating.

Mr. Green is preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Foster Green. He is survived by sons, Robert D. Green and Bobby R. Green, both of Harpersville; daughter, Sara Blankenship of Sylacauga; sister Ozay McElroy of Hueytown; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Mr. Green retired from Kimberly-Clark Paper Mill in Childersburg with 30 years of service. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed gardening and sharing the vegetables from the garden with his neighbors. The family would like to thank the staff of Trinity (Montclair) and Sylacauga Health and Rehab for all of their hospitality.
