Briarwood Christian defeats rival Chelsea in area contest

The Briarwood Christian School baseball team defeated rival Chelsea 10-0 in a Class 5A, Area 7 contest April 12.

Ben Craft led the Lions as he finished 3-for-3 at the plate. Craft drove in one run and scored two runs.

Harrison Foster finished 2-for-3 with two doubles and drove in three runs. Cole Pearson, who drove in two runs and scored one run, went 2-for-3 at the plate. Matthew Furuto, who drove in two runs and scored one run, finished 1-for-2 at the plate. Daniel Robert finished 1-for-4 and scored one run.

Micah Hooper, who drove in one run and scored one run, went 1-for-3 at the plate. Kevin McKelvey scored two runs. Robby Hale and Carter Tyra scored one run each.

Logan Crook earned the win on the mound after giving up just one hit with six strikeouts and a walk in a five-inning complete game.

Eli Bashour led Chelsea at the plate as he finished 1-for-3 with a single. Bashour recorded the lone hit for the Hornets.

Joey Mock started on the mound and gave up seven runs on six hits with three strikeouts and three walks in 2 1/3 innings. Tripp Hobbs allowed one run on three hits with one walk in 2/3 of an inning.
