Pelham softball tops Shelby County

The Pelham High School softball team defeated Shelby County 4-0 in high school softball action April 13.

The Panthers scored one run in the second inning, two runs in the third inning and one run in the sixth inning in the victory.

Mary Morgan Dramer led the Panthers as she finished 3-for-4 at the plate. Dramer scored two runs in the victory.

Erin Whitman finished 1-for-3 at the plate and drove in two runs. Jennifer Davis went 1-for-2 at the plate and drove in one run. Caitlyn Sapp finished 1-for-2 and scored one run.

Kristian Foster finished 1-for-4 at the plate. Heather McGuirk went 1-for-2 at the plate. Lindsey Pyle scored one run in the victory.

Davis started in the circle for the Panthers and earned the win after giving up five hits with five strikeouts and a walk in five innings.

Becky Fox picked up a save after giving up one hit with four strikeouts in two innings in relief.

Breanna Buie and Jaselyn Harrison led the Wildcats as each finished 2-for-3 at the plate.

Trayna Thompson finished 1-for-4 at the plate. Victoria Adams went 1-for-3 at the plate.

Jessica Carden took the loss in the circle after giving up two earned runs on eight hits with four strikeouts and five walks in a complete game.
