The Thompson High School softball team edged Oak Mountain 3-2 in a Class 6A, Area 10 contest April 14.

Jordan Swindle led the Warriors (23-10 overall, 1-2 in Class 6A, Area 10) at the plate as she finished 2-for-3 with two doubles. Swindle scored two runs in the victory.

Ashleigh Short went 2-for-4 at the plate.

Rachel Rigney earned the win in the circle after giving up two earned runs on four hits with eight strikeouts and four walks in a complete game.

Anne Thomaston led Oak Mountain at the plate as she finished 1-for-3 with a triple. Thomaston drove in one run in the defeat.

Leah Reeve took the loss in the circle after giving up one earned run on eight hits with six strikeouts and a walk in a complete game.
