Evangel Christian drops baseball doubleheader

The Evangel Christian School baseball team dropped a doubleheader with the Tuscaloosa Home Educators 9-5 in high school baseball action April 16.

The Lightning (19-7) fell to T.H.E. 9-5 in the opener.

Brentley Wells led Evangel Christian as he finished 1-for-4 at the plate. Wells drove in two runs in the defeat.

Thomas Milstead, who drove in one run and scored one run, finished 1-for-4 at the plate. Brandon Mackey went 1-for-4 at the plate and scored one run. Ben Albright finished 1-for-4 at the plate and scored one run.

Nate Scott went 1-for-4 at the plate. Peter Lau finished 1-for-3 at the plate. Hayden Brown scored two runs in the defeat.

Albright took the loss on the mound after giving up two earned runs on four hits with two strikeouts and three walks in 4 1/3 innings. Scott allowed one earned run on four hits with a strikeout in 1 2/3 innings.

Evangel Christian fell to T.H.E. 5-3 in the nightcap.

Brown led the Lightning as he finished 2-for-4 at the plate. Brown drove in one run in the defeat.

Mackey, who scored one run, finished 1-for-3 at the plate with a double. Albright went 1-for-1 at the plate and scored one run. Zac Shackelford scored one run in the defeat.

Mackey took the loss after giving up three earned runs on five hits with four strikeouts and a walk in four innings.
