Westminster sweeps Shades Mountain in tennis match

The Westminster School at Oak Mountain swept Shades Mountain Christian 9-0 in high school tennis action April 18.

The Knights won all six singles’ matches and all three doubles’ matches against Shades Mountain.

Richard Robey of Westminster defeated Dan Courter of Shades Mountain the No. 1 singles’ match 8-0. Adam Gurley of Westminster won the No. 2 singles’ match against Josiah Moore of Shades Mountain 8-2.

Westminster’s Scott McClure won the No. 3 singles’ match against Roosevelt Reynolds of Shades Mountain 8-5. The Knights’ Mark McClure defeated Nick Henry of Shades Mountain 8-3 in the No. 4 singles’ match.

Bobby Skelton of Westminster defeated Cody Watson of Shades Mountain 8-2 in the No. 5 singles’ match. Wellford Moore of Westminster defeated Stephen Reeves of Shades Mountain 8-1 in the No. 6 singles’ match.

Robey and Gurley defeated Courter and Moore 8-2 in the No. 1 doubles’ match. Scott and Mark McClure defeated Reynolds and Henry 8-1 in the No. 2 doubles’ match. Skelton and Moore defeated Watson and Reeves 8-1 in the No. 3 doubles’ match.
