Oak Mountain edges Hoover in area softball contest

The Oak Mountain High School softball team edged Hoover 4-3 in extra innings in an Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 6A, Area 10 contest April 21.

Oak Mountain scored the game-winning run in the top of the eighth inning.

Leah Reeve led the Eagles (30-10 overall, 3-2 in Class 6A, Area 10) at the plate as she finished 1-for-4 with a home run. Reeve drove in two runs and scored one run in the victory.

Caroline Seitz, who drove in one run and scored one run, finished 2-for-4 at the plate. Kailey Boone went 2-for-4 with a double.

Haley Thomaston and Hannah Griffin each finished 2-for-3 at the plate.

Nicole Kehr started on the mound for Oak Mountain and earned the win in the circle after giving up two earned runs on seven hits with five strikeouts and two walks in an eight-inning complete game.
