Indian Springs finishes runner up in section tennis tournament

The Indian Springs School girls’ tennis team finished runner up in an Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 4A-1A section tournament and qualified for the state tournament.

Indian Springs, which racked up 38 points, was represented in three singles’ championship matches and all three doubles’ title matches.

Ashleigh Ruggles of Indian Springs won the No. 3 singles’ championship match following a 6-2, 6-2 win over Kaitlyn Mohlnebrok of American Christian in the title match. Elizabeth Miller of Indian Springs claimed the No. 4 singles’ title after defeating Olivia Dure of Altamont 2-6, 6-3, 7-5 in the championship match.

Erin McMinn of Indian Springs fell to Leah Davis of American Christian 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 1 singles’ championship match.

McMinn and Carley Putnam of Indian Springs fell to Davis and Mary Madison Taylor of American Christian 6-0, 6-2 in the No. 1 doubles’ championship match. Ruggles and Elizabeth Miller of Indian Springs fell to Samantha Yates and Dure of Altamont 6-4, 6-4 in the No. 2 doubles’ title match.

Evelyn Baxley and Lia Bargeron of Indian Springs fell to Ali Joseph and Jillian Hamilton of Altamont in the No. 3 doubles’ match.
