Shelby County softball defeats Briarwood Christian

The Shelby County High School softball team defeated Briarwood Christian School 15-0 in a Class 5A, Area 7 contest April 25.

Kaitlyn Paschall led the Wildcats at the plate as she finished 3-for-4 with a double. Paschall drove in two runs and scored two runs in the victory.

Brianna Buie, who drove in two runs and scored two runs, finished 2-for-5 with a double. Courtney Shields, who drove in one run and scored two runs, went 3-for-4 at the plate.

Paschall earned the win in the circle after giving up just three hits with four strikeouts and a walk in a five-inning complete game.

Savannah Kolb led Briarwood Christian as she finished 2-for-3 at the plate.

Linley Splawn took the loss in the circle after giving up three earned runs on eight hits with two walks in 3 1/3 innings. Brooke Calma allowed two earned runs on three hits with a strikeout and five walks in 1 2/3 innings.
