Sylacauga

Mrs. Bonnie Louise Jones – our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend – passed away Sunday, April 24, 2011, at the age of 78 at Goodwater Health Care, although she was a resident of Sylacauga for most of her life.

Mrs. Jones worked for Sylacauga Garment as well as for Russell Mills of Alexander City. She enjoyed sewing for people. She was also a sitter for a number of years for Sylacauga Hospital and Nursing Home. She enjoyed helping the sick, elderly and shut-ins. Before becoming disabled, Mrs. Jones enjoyed gardening and fishing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Ira Usrey of Asheville; sisters, Mildred Moore, Mable Mars, Juanita McMahon, Mary Farmer and Betty Jackson; and brothers, Cecil Usrey, Maise Usrey, Clifton Usrey and R.J. Usrey. She is survived by her son, Gene Honeycutt (Linda Rayfield Honeycutt) of Calera and his family – Mrs. Jones’ grandchildren: Tony Honeycutt (Stephanie Staggs Honeycutt), Betty Ann Rayfield and Shane Rayfield; and Mrs. Jones’ great-grandchildren Elijah Honeycutt, Ryder Honeycutt, Sam Eastman and Chris Childers, as well as many nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends.

She is also survived by her son, Jerry, and his wife Patricia (Wyatt) Honeycutt of Montevallo, along with his family – Mrs. Jones’ grandchildren: Todd and Jessica (Honeycutt) Seales of Montevallo and her great-grandchildren, Morgan Olivia Honeycutt, Zander Patrick Honeycutt and Brody and Brandy (Gore) Honeycutt of Montevallo; Mrs. Jones’s daughters, Ruth Honeycutt of Sylacauga and Teresa Plier (Tony) of Weogufkga and the Plier family – Mrs. Jones’ grandsons: Tim Plier of Weogufka and Todd Plier (Vivian) of Sylacauga; her great-grandchildren, Troy Plier, Trinity Plier, Blake Plier and Crimson Ty Plier of Sylacauga, as well as a sister, Inez Franklin of Asheville and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation was held Tuesday, April 26 from 4-7 p.m. at Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel. Funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 27 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Roy Johnson and the Reverend Donnie Blackmon officiating. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Todd Plier, Tony Honeycutt, Brody Honeycutt, Todd Seales, Eric Franklin, Donnie Robinson and Andy Heflin.
