Shelby County is under a tornado warning until 8:45 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

At 7:50, the NWS indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado. The storm was located near Alabaster and moving northeast at 45 mph.

“This storm has a history of producing large, damaging tornadoes,” the NWS release read. “Take cover now!”
