Shannon Engle Bristow, born December 4, 1954, of Shelby passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2011. Shannon was a devoted wife, mother, daughter and sister who was dearly loved and will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her father, James C. Engle. She is survived by her beloved husband and business partner of 32 years, Sam Bristow; her daughters, Kelley Smith (Will) and Samantha Rush (Andy); her mother, Jewell Engle; one brother, Tony Engle (Pam); one sister, Carolyn Waters (Dan); four grandchildren, Hunter Grace Rush, Bristow Smith, Elizabeth Smith and Anna Smith; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and many friends.

She graduated with highest honors from Auburn University, Montgomery. She will be remembered for her generosity and selflessness. She never met a stranger and had a passion for people.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Bolton Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Pinelawn Gardens.
