Panthers finish fourth in state tennis tournament

The Pelham High School boys’ tennis team finished fourth overall in team standings in the Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 6A state tennis tournament April 30.

The Panthers racked up 22 points in the tournament.

Three Pelham players reached the quarterfinal round in their respective brackets.

Jim Flaniken of Pelham reached the No. 1 singles’ quarterfinals before falling to Patrick Lucas of Mountain Brook 6-1, 6-2. Peyton Davis of Pelham reached the No. 3 singles’ semifinals before falling to Alex Beale of Auburn 4-6, 6-2, 6-2.

Jacob Dolinger of Pelham reached the No. 5 singles’ semifinals before falling to John Morson of Vestavia Hills 6-0, 6-3.

Dolinger and Christian Holly of Pelham reached the No. 3 doubles’ semifinals before falling to a pair of Huntsville players 6-3, 6-0.
