University of Montevallo senior designated hitter/outfielder Josh Dabbs was named third team Academic All-District 4 by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Dabbs, a native of Hueytown, has a 3.63 grade point average in kinesiology. He was named a Gold Scholar on the 2009-2010 Peach Belt Conference Presidential Honor Roll. He hit .297 this season with 28 runs scored, nine doubles, nine homeruns and 32 RBIs.

Dabbs was third on the team in RBIs and slugging percentage while leading the Falcons in homeruns.

Dabbs was one of five Peach Belt Conference players selected to the All-District teams. Montevallo is the only Peach Belt Conference team that falls in District 4. The other conference teams fall in District 3.
