University of Montevallo sophomore second baseman Austin Dubberly was recently named third team All-Southeast Region by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
The selection adds to Dubberly’s 2011 trophy case as he has already been named first team All-Peach Belt Conference as well as second team All-Southeast Region by the American Baseball Coaches Association.
Dubberly hit .352 with 27 runs scored, nine doubles and 25 RBIs. The former Pelham High School baseball standout had a .409 slugging percentage and a .401 on-base percentage.
Dubberly was 5-of-7 in stolen bases and won the University of Montevallo Gold Glove award at the end of the season. He was one of the top hitting second basemen in the region and was also a standout in the field before missing the last nine games of the season due to injury.
